Global Observatory for Geography and Territorial Planning

The Global Observatory for Geography and Territorial Planning brings together spatial analysis, territorial intelligence and development planning to support more balanced and sustainable management of territories. It examines urban growth, human mobility, climate risks, natural resources, regional disparities, borders, rural areas, coastal zones and cross-border spaces.

Through geographic data, mapping tools, remote sensing, geospatial information systems and territorial foresight, the Observatory helps States, local authorities, institutions and development partners design policies that are better informed, more inclusive and more responsive to territorial realities. Its work makes geography and territorial planning key instruments for spatial justice, resilience, social cohesion and sustainable governance.
