Global Program for Environmental and Climate Protection Support

The Global Program for Environmental and Climate Protection Support is the sectoral framework through which the World Association for Development (WAD) structures its action in favour of ecosystem preservation, climate resilience, and the transition towards more sustainable development models. This Program supports States and their partners in the strengthening of environmental and climate policies, the sustainable management of natural resources, the protection of vulnerable territories, and the integration of environmental and climate considerations into national development strategies.

The Program intervenes notably in the areas of environmental and climate governance, the protection of biodiversity and ecosystems, the sustainable management of natural resources, adaptation to climate change, the prevention of environmental risks, and the resilience of territories in the face of climate shocks.

Through this programmatic approach, WAD aims to support development trajectories that reconcile environmental protection, climate resilience, population security, and economic and social sustainability, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Agreement on climate, and international commitments relating to the environment and climate.
