Spaces for expression, learning and interaction that help girls reveal their talents and build confidence in their ability to take action.

As part of its programme supporting the empowerment of women and girls, the World Association for Development (AMD) has organized educational and civic activities every year for more than five years on the occasion of International Women’s Day. These initiatives raise awareness among younger generations about the principles of equality, responsibility, civic engagement and participation in community life.

Convinced that knowledge of rights and leadership development begin at an early age, AMD offers educational and cultural competitions, as well as awareness-raising activities aimed at girls. These settings enable them to express their ideas, exercise their creativity and showcase their abilities, while deepening their understanding of issues related to education, equality and the development of their communities.

The most outstanding achievements and initiatives are highlighted in order to recognize participants’ efforts and strengthen their motivation. Beyond the distinctions awarded, this approach encourages initiative, a sense of responsibility and the ability to develop projects that are useful both at school and within the community.

The activities also include conferences, meetings with women holding positions of responsibility, intergenerational exchanges and cultural activities. They give participants access to concrete experiences, inspiring role models and guidance that can nurture their academic, professional and civic ambitions.

By bringing together educational institutions, community organizations, women’s associations and institutional partners, AMD creates a learning environment that is open to society. This collective mobilization helps provide better support to girls, strengthen intergenerational links and encourage their involvement in initiatives that concern their future.

Over the years, participants have been able to express their aspirations more clearly, showcase their talents and become more aware of their capacity to take action. Competitions, discussions and collective activities have also increased their interest in civic engagement, encouraged more active participation in their school environment and fostered new ambitions for their further studies and professional future.

Through this initiative, the World Association for Development invests in the development of future generations and in the emergence of female leadership from adolescence onwards. By strengthening these spaces for expression and learning, AMD seeks to help more girls defend their rights, lead their projects and contribute confidently to the transformation of their communities and countries.
