Strengthening Women’s Leadership in the Workplace: AMD’s Commitment to Skills Development.
Fostering more confident professional pathways by providing women with the tools they need to lead, make decisions and advance within organizations.
The World Association for Development (AMD) considers the enhancement of women’s skills to be a key factor in managerial quality, equal opportunities and sustainable development. In this context, it implements a programme designed for women working in public administrations, businesses, professional organizations and other institutional environments.
Implemented in collaboration with women’s associations and various partner organizations, this programme supports participants in strengthening their professional skills, asserting their leadership and adapting to changes in the world of work. AMD thus seeks to promote more equitable conditions for career advancement and access to positions of responsibility.
The activities offered combine training sessions, conferences and discussion forums focusing on professional leadership, ethics, confidentiality, personal development, governance, management and communication. The content is tailored to the participants’ needs and to the realities of their professional environments, with the aim of strengthening their mastery of the tools essential to the effective performance of their duties.
The programme also encourages the sharing of experiences, networking and peer learning. This collective dimension enables women to compare their practices, benefit from diverse career paths and build professional relationships capable of supporting their development and participation in decision-making processes.
The sessions conducted have enabled participants to adopt a more structured approach to their responsibilities, working methods and positioning within organizations. They have contributed to a better understanding and application of the principles of leadership, professional ethics and communication, while developing the ability to analyse situations, make responsible decisions and participate with greater confidence in management and consultation processes.
By supporting women’s professional advancement, AMD contributes to enhancing human capital, improving organizational practices and achieving more balanced representation in management positions. The initiative also contributes to reducing professional inequalities and fostering more inclusive institutions capable of fully recognizing and mobilizing women’s talents.
AMD intends to continue expanding this programme to an increasing number of administrations, businesses and organizations. This expansion aims to provide more women with structured opportunities for training, professional advancement and access to positions of responsibility, while promoting sustainable improvements in professional and institutional practices.
